WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Police Service is scheduled for a virtual on-site assessment beginning Monday, July 19, 2021, examining aspects of Winnipeg Police policy and procedure, management, operations, and support services. The assessment is part of a multi-year voluntary re-accreditation process conducted by CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies). The certificate of accreditation is an internationally recognized demonstration of law enforcement professional excellence.
As part of the virtual on-site assessment, the public is invited to offer comments to the assessors by phoning, attending the online information session, or providing a written submission via email.
On Monday, July 19th, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. CDT the public may phone the assessors to provide their comments. The contact phone number is 204-986-3406.
On Monday, July 19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. CDT the public may attend the online information session to speak with the assessors using the ZOOM meeting link below. The meeting will adjourn when all presenters are heard.

Comments shared by phone, or online are limited to 10 minutes and must address the Service’s ability to comply with the Commission’s standards. Access to the standards is available upon request between June 1, 2021 and July 16, 2021 by emailing WPS-Accreditation@winnipeg.ca and providing a user name and email address.
