WInnipeg Police Not Horsing Around

Winnipeg Police Release

On June 16, 2020, at 5:17 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of two horses wandering loose in traffic on Plessis Road near St. Boniface Road.

Two officers, who are familiar with horses, were able to calm them long enough to put ropes around their necks so they could be guided off Plessis Road. The horses were then escorted to the safety of a nearby gravel road, while nearby stables were checked in an attempt to identify their owner.

At approximately 6:10 a.m., the horses were turned over to a nearby stable owner who took care of them until the owner was later located.
