Virtual Canada Day in Saint-Boniface

New Release from Michelle Gervais, Director, Tourisme Riel

COVID-19 has certainly changed how we gather and celebrate. And this Canada Day, many sites will not be open and large group gatherings in public gatherings will still be banned. But that does not mean that we can’t celebrate this great country of ours.

And Saint-Boniface will help you do just that as it hosts it first-ever virtual Canada Day celebrations. Saint Boniface Celebrates Canada Day is a virtual celebration which will take you inside some of our favorite historical attractions where you’ll hear fascinating stories, see some great artifacts, and maybe learn something captivating about the area.

Join Barney Morin as he takes you on a private, virtual tour of the Saint-Boniface Museum, Maison Gabrielle-Roy, and Fort Gibraltar. There will also be musical performances by Andrina Turenne, Justin Lacroix, Mme Diva and Hakim Moussaoui.

But that’s not all. Barney has a few laughs and surprises in store for you as he travels through the neighborhood, stopping unexpectedly at some of his favorite shops between visits.

Enjoy this celebration for Canada’s birthday through the eyes of a local ‘bon vivant’ and discover the Passion & Histoire of Saint-Boniface, its language, history, culture and music.

The Saint-Boniface Celebrates Canada virtual event will be pre-recorded and will air on July 1st, at 1 p.m., on the following sites:
