Saturday, April 22, 2023 - Engaging with seniors is important for me because seniors are a significant and growing demographic with unique needs and concerns, and because seniors are often community active and have valuable life experience to offer to an elected official.
As your City Councillor and in my recent election, I committed to hosting regular community meetings and establish a Seniors Advisory Committee with Kirkfield Park residents.
Yesterday we hosted our first advisory meeting with our new Seniors Advisory Committee at our community office on Portage Avenue and it was a tremendous success. We discussed the new programs being offered by our Government, health-care, crime, and how to reconnect with each other in our community.
I look forward to the next meeting and sharing some community events our committee talked about during the first meeting.
