The New Year is a time to reflect on the past year as we embark on a new chapter in life.
Take a moment to celebrate the small victories and moments you had in 2021. There are so many to be grateful for when we look back.
And make time to congratulate yourself for making it through all those days you thought you never would.
We did it. We made it through another year, and because of it we are stronger, wiser, and closer to our goals.
As we embark on a New Year, I want to thank you for your support and the honour to represent this great community.
In 2022 I remain committed to making our community better. I will continue to communicate openly, make decisions based on facts, and put the needs of residents before my own political objectives.
I have spent my whole life taking on the system, holding people in power accountable and asking tough questions. I'm unafraid to take on the system or challenge the old guard.
There is a corrupt system that operates behind closed doors in place and for newly elected officials, you either fall in line or you are silenced.
I want to assure you that in 2022 I will continue fighting for the residents I serve in Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood. I will fight for better city services, for safe neighbourhoods, value for your tax dollars, and to stop the decision-making that happens behind closed doors.
But building a better community and city won't be easy. Those in power will say and do whatever it takes to keep the status quo, to keep you in the dark, to keep pushing back.
We can build a city for all, not just those in power. A city that eliminates the "old boys inner-circle" and replaced with a fair and reasonable government approach.
We can build a safe city for all and one that looks for creative, collaborative solutions, not blame.
We are ready for 2022, a year of change for a better Winnipeg.
I wish you and your loved ones a Happy and Healthy New Year!
