$15,000 For A New Playground At Beaumont School

By: Winnipeg City Councillor Kevin Klein serving Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood

I believe that taxpayers want to see their hard-earned money hard at for them. There has to be a benefit for dollars paid. A Government shouldn't spend money on projects that are not within their jurisdiction.

Every member of the council has a fund known as the LDR grant (Land Dedication Reserve). The funds are paid by developers who choose to build in a specific ward.

The LDR grant is the best avenue for non-members of the Mayor's paid EPC Team, to make decisions that will improve quality of life, even just a little.

I'm so happy to announce, on behalf of the residents I serve in Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood, a $15,000 grant to the Beaumont School Playground Improvement.

The $15,000 represents half of the total costs of the school's project being lead by parents.

I don't believe in only awarding large grants in election years, it's your money, and it should work for you. If you wish to learn more about the different grants every Councillor has to use under their discretion, click here.
