Two People Assaulted in Bus Shelter

WINNIPEG, MB. - On February 22, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol officers responded to the report of an assault at a City of Winnipeg transit shelter in the area of Portage Avenue and Edmonton Street.

Officers arrived and confirmed that a 19-year-old male and a 50-year-old female had been seriously assaulted. Police administered emergency first-aid; both were transported to hospital in unstable condition and subsequently upgraded to stable condition.

This investigation is still ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time.
