Spray Pad in Charleswood Opens Today


WINNIPEG, MB. - Due to the extreme temperatures forecasted over the five days in Winnipeg, provincial health officials have allowed the city to open spray pads until June 12.


The City will be opening 20 of its 23 stand-alone spray pads. At this time, the provincial public health orders allowing for the operation of spray pads are set to expire at 12:01 a.m. on June 12, 2021.

The following City spray pads will open beginning on June 3:

Central Park River Heights Fort Rouge - St. Norbert - Freight House - Shaughnessy - Gateway - St. James Assiniboia Centennial Pool - Jill Officer Park - Sturgeon Heights - Lindenwoods - Valley Gardens - Lindsey Wilson Park - Vimy Ridge Memorial Park - Machray Park - Waverley Heights - Provencher Park - Westdale - Park City West - West Kildonan

The spray pads can be used free of charge, and will be open daily from noon to 8 p.m. The spray pads at Michaëlle Jean Park (Norquay Community Centre) and Old Ex will not be opening at this time.

The City will not be sanitizing spray pads and on-site washrooms will not be available for use. Residents are asked to avoid using spray pads if they are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

Residents are reminded that gatherings with anyone outside your household are not allowed in our parks, open spaces, playgrounds, and spray pads under current public health orders.

The City will not be opening wading pools or outdoor pools at this time.
