In December, the Winnipeg Wellness Fund application process began. The fund, designed to support community initiatives, will help reduce the pandemic's physical, mental, and emotional distress caused by the pandemic.
Businesses, business organizations, schools, community centres, and not-for-profit community entities, groups, or associations are encouraged to apply. The ward grant will support community-led initiatives that allow residents to participate in fun, safe activities during the winter months. Read more, click here.
Through a provincial grant, $40,000 in funding was directed to each ward in the city. The funding amounts will vary for each successful application approved by the area Councillors in which the application is received.
We must work together to make the most of this opportunity. I am inviting nine residents, three from each specific community and three hopefully being under the age of 18, to work with me in the application review process. All meetings will be via ZOOM, and I ask that you not be directly connected with an organization applying for a grant in our ward.
Let's do this together. It's your money. If you are interested, please send me an email with your full name, address, and contact details along with a paragraph explaining why you wish to be part of this project no later than January 8 at 5:00 pm.
