
WINNIPEG, MB. - On February 8, 2021, at 10:14 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a convenience store in the 1000 block of McPhillips Street for a report of a commercial robbery. Two male suspects had robbed the store with a machete and fled with stolen goods.
Soon after, a North District General Patrol unit located two male suspects in the area of Redwood Avenue and Sgt Tommy Prince Street. The males were taken into custody, and two knives, including a machete, were seized. Items believed to have been stolen from the store were recovered.
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
A 16-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Robbery
- Possession of a Weapon (x2)
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition (x2)
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking (x2)
A 32-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Robbery
- Possession of a Weapon
Both were detained in custody. The 32-year-old male is not being named due to having a family relation with the youth.
