Winnipeg Man Charged for Luring an Underage Child


WInnipeg Police Service Information Release


The Winnipeg Police Service said on June 25, members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit became involved in an investigation of internet luring involving a Child under the age of 14. 


A 29-year-old Winnipeg man posing as a 14-year-old boy contacted the victim for approximately a month before the parents of the victim learned of the conversation, at which point they contacted Police.


On July 14, 2020, Members of the Winnipeg Police ICE Unit conducted an undercover investigation leading to the arrest of Kenneth Dale Emerson, a 29-year-old male from Winnipeg, MB.


He has been charged with:


- Adult Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by Means of Telecommunication (x2)


He has been released on a Recognizance (as outlined by the Criminal Code).
