Winnipeg Home Invasion


Winnipeg Police News Release


On June 12, 2020, at 11:48 p.m., General Patrol members, along with AIR1 and the K9 Unit, responded to a residence in the first 100 block of Celina Cove for a report of a break-in.


AIR1 subsequently located three suspects as they ran through yards and attempted to hide. They were taken into custody soon after.


Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation. The residence was identified as having a legal licence to grow marijuana. It is believed that the suspects forced their way into the house and assaulted two residents; a 17-year-old male and a 20-year-old female. The suspects then bound the victims with tape and subsequently stole numerous items, including a large quantity of marijuana.


Jason Dean Bercier, a 41-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:


- Break Enter & Commit Robbery - Dwelling House

- Forcible Confinement

- Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm

- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order


A 47-year-old male of Winnipeg faces charges of:


- Break Enter & Commit Robbery - Dwelling House


A 28-year-old female of Fort Alexander faces charges of:


- Break Enter & Commit Robbery - Dwelling House
