Toronto Man Dies in Winnipeg Shooting

The Winnipeg Police Service issued a media release on August 27 regarding an aggravated assault that occurred the previous evening: on August 26, 2020, at 8:45 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 800 block of Aberdeen Avenue for a report of shots that had just been fired in the area.


Upon arrival, officers located an injured adult male that had been shot. The male was transported to hospital in critical condition, however, his condition deteriorated too grave. 


On August 28, the victim succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Mohammed Yonis ALI, 21, from Toronto.
