On September 17, 2021 at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police responded to the area of Selkirk Avenue and McGregor Street for the report of a passenger aboard a Transit bus who had been assaulted by another passenger.

Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male on the bus who was injured and subsequently transported to hospital in unstable condition, where he was later upgraded to stable condition. Investigators believe that two male passengers aboard the bus became involved in an altercation when the victim was assaulted with a weapon. The suspect then fled the area.
