One of most rewarding aspects of representing the residents of Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood is supporting local initiatives that make community better.
We have so many people passionate about our parks and green spaces there is always some work going on. Each ward councillor has a fund, the Land Dedication Fund. The revenue in this fund is a small percentage of what developers pay the city in lieu of park space.
If we are being objective, the small amount of money placed in these funds, is not adequate enough to build a new green space. That is a policy I am working to change.
That said. it is important to put these funds to work and I have been doing that for the three years I have had the honour to represent our community.
