Since being elected nearly two years ago this month, I have sat idly by as this leadership blames the Provincial Government through the media. The Mayor prefers to negotiate in public. That is unbecoming of any leader.
There are two types of leaders, those who find solutions and those who find excuses. Can you remember a time in the last six years of this administration that the Mayor has accepted responsibility for anything?
An experienced leader checks their ego at the door and never takes it to the podium. An experienced leader takes a little more of the blame and a little less of the credit every time.
I remain committed to working collaboratively with this leadership. I'm in the office every day, and I've provided all my colleagues with my cell number, call anytime.
Please end the public shamming attempts and enact a more professional approach. I am willing to be at the table if you wish me to be there.
I'm not making this offer as a political move or ego. Let's work together in taxpayers' best interest.
