The Winnipeg Police Service and other stakeholders are aware of a planned demonstration around the Legislative Buildings and surrounding area set to begin at 9:00 am Friday, February 4, 2022. This event is being coordinated in support of the protests occurring in Ottawa and other jurisdictions. It is believed that large trucks and vehicles will arrive in a convoy and are expected to remain for some time. Police are working with the organizers to facilitate a peaceful event which respects their right to protest, while ensuring public safety. The demonstration is expected to create significant traffic congestion in the downtown. Please avoid the area if possible.
