Hoping to Bring Some Cheer and Food to Your Holidays

The photo used above is from Lights for Hope in Winnipeg.

It's been another challenging year as the pandemic continues to impact our daily lives. Unfortunately, navigating the stormy waters of COVID has caused frustrations to run a little higher, cooping to be more stressful, and it has created division in our community.

This holiday season is an excellent opportunity to brighten up the lives of so many others. Bring a smile to a passing stranger, a joy to a young child. It is for these reasons that I have been able to sponsor the first-ever Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood Holiday Decorating Contest.

Three local community organizations have taken on the responsibility for the C-T-W Holiday Decorating contest. The Charleswood 55+ Active Living Centre, the Tuxedo Community Centre, and the St. James Assiniboia Museum.

I cannot express my gratitude enough to the volunteers and staff who quickly saw our vision for the contest to brighten up our ward's Holiday. Season

The community groups will receive $500 each, which will be put back into our local economy by purchasing gift cards from locally owned and operated businesses, Winnipeggers supporting Winnipeggers.

I hope you will participate in this fun event, get the entire family involved, or maybe even your whole street involved in the decorating.

To participate in Charlewood, clicking this link for details. In Tuxedo, find details by clicking this link, and in Westwood, find details by clicking this link.

Let's use this opportunity to brighten up the lives of our fellow Winnipeggers.
