COVID-19 Exposure at Animal Services Possible

WINNIPEG, MB. - The public is advised of a potential COVID-19 exposure at Animal Services Agency (1057 Logan Ave.) on April 20, 2021, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

An Animal Services employee working during that time has since tested positive for COVID-19. The employee, who had contact with the public, was following COVID-19 protocols, including wearing a mask and remaining behind a plexiglass barrier.

Animal Services is now closed to members of the public. Animal Services will continue to reunite lost dogs with their owners and will continue to have dogs available for adoption; however, an appointment must be made in advance by contacting 311. Residents can report animal-related service requests by contacting 311.

Pet licenses may be purchased or renewed over the phone with 311, online, or by mailing in a check with an invoice.

Residents are reminded that if they are showing symptoms of COVID-19, they are advised to visit a testing site as soon as possible. Those who have concerns about symptoms or who are unsure whether they should be tested can call Health Links-Info Santé at 204-788-8200 or toll free at 1-888-315-9257.
