Winnipeg Police released a sketch of a suspect wanted for an assault on a woman who was parked in a lot on Portage Avenue.
Police said that on April 19th, a woman in her 40s entered her car parked in a lot in the 800 block of Portage Avenue. Moments later, an unknown man unexpectedly entered the passenger side and began assaulting her. She managed to escape the vehicle and was thrown to the ground, where the attack continued.
A passerby intervened by shouting at the suspect, who then fled. He was last seen eastbound towards Broadway between the houses near Picardy Place.
The victim was assessed by paramedics and received subsequent treatment at the hospital.
The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation, a Winnipeg Police sketch artist met with an eye witness, and a composite sketch of the suspect was completed.
The suspect is described as:
a white male in his 40s-50s
a thin build
shaggy reddish salt/pepper-coloured hair
beard with the same colouring
blue eyes
decayed/stained teeth
