Arrest Made in Winnipeg Stabbing

On May 12, 2020, at 4:10 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of an injured male who had boarded a City of Winnipeg transit bus located at Main Street and Pacific Avenue. The male was conveyed to hospital with significant injuries as a result of being stabbed. The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.  Update: Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation. It is believed that two suspects had approached the 24-year-old victim and confronted him in a case of mistaken identity. A physical altercation occurred, and the victim was stabbed. The victim then fled onto a transit bus, at which time he was stabbed again.  The suspects were not known to the victim before the incident. A 31-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with: - Aggravated Assault - Possession of a Weapon - Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition A 31-year-old female of Winnipeg has been charged with: - Aggravated Assault Both were detained in custody.
