(Winnipeg Police Release)
WINNIPEG - On May 2, 2020, at approximately 12:30 a.m., North District General Patrol officers were searching for two armed suspects in the area of Stella Avenue and Andrews Street when they observed a possible suspect on a bicycle. The male fled and officers began to chase the suspect on foot.
With the help of Air1 and other assisting units, the suspect was arrested in the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue. He was found to be armed with two knives, a sawed-off .303 rifle, and assorted ammunition. In addition, the suspect was found to be wanted and violating several conditions of a release order. It appears this male was not connected to the initial incident.
Percy Reynold SIMPSON, 22, was charged with:
- Possess Weapon x 3
- Possess Restricted/Prohibited Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of Court Order x 5
He was detained in custody.
