WINNIPEG, MB. - Two community centres in Charleswood-Tuxedo-Westwood will receive funding for renovations through the City of Winnipeg’s Community Centre Renovation Grant Program (CCRGP).
Community Centres are becoming more important to our everyday life. There represent a safe place, where to meet your neighbours, and green space, said Councillor Kevin Klein.
Westdale and Roblin Park will both be receiving the community grants.
The CCRGP received 27 applications requesting a total of $2,035,622.60, during the Spring 2021 Intake period. Twenty-three (23) applications totaling $1,865,228.74 were approved.
The program ensures that City-owned, board-run community centres can access much-needed assistance required to complete facility repairs, upgrades, retrofits, safety improvements, and renovation projects.
The program has two intake periods each year: a spring intake in March and a fall intake in October.
Information regarding the CCRGP, including how community centres can apply, can be found at City of Winnipeg – Community Centres.
